Taylor Builders commenced operation in 1983. The brain child of Ron & Desley Taylor and trading from humble beginnings in their home offices they have expanded their business into one of the largest commercial, industrial, multi-res and new home builders in Townsville but still retain the personalized service that sets them apart.
In 1995 their son Chris joined the operation ensuring that the family emphasis of Taylor Builders will continue.
Ron has been involved in the building industry, starting as an apprentice in 1966. In 1977
he gained his builder's license. (No. 12024)
Ron is very active in the building industry, having served as President of the North Queensland Region of the Housing Industry Association (HIA). He has also been involved in various working committees for the HIA. He was elected to the local City Council from 2000 to 2004 and was the chairman of the planning and development committee. Ron is also a Life Member of the HIA and a longtime member of Rotary. |

Chris Taylor joined the business after studying at University and receiving his Bachelor of Commerce. He has also now achieved his Post Graduate Diploma in Construction and his Bachelor of Laws. This education has given him an excellent knowledge of the management and organisational processes required in any construction project. Chris has also received his own builder's license (No. 715758). Chris is also a past President of the North Queensland Region of the Housing Industry Association and is actively involved in helping to improve the building industry as much as possible.
