Multi-residential Low Cost Housing Low Cost housing in the Northern area received a boost with the design and construction of these three individual complexes conveniently located in Townsville. Using the latest building techniques these units have been constructed to provide massive financial benefits to the developer and yet have maintained a clean modern and extremely fresh look , not normally associated with this style of construction. The fit out is of a high standard, as is the inclusion of some of the best appliances also help make these units a cut above the normal standard. The design provides a communal atmosphere in an easy living design. The complexes are built to a higher than normal specification to ensure many years of solid service to the Government and the tenants. All three multi-residential projects were completed on time and well within the budget, to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.

Cranbrook Aged Care Facility
This 48 unit complex was constructed based on the client's design, which consisted of 8 single storey unit blocks interconnected with covered walkways and a two storey communal area and manager's residence.

The units were constructed using a “pod” slab system and were all timber framed buildings, with external Weathertex cladding and plasterboard lined internally. Wide eaves around the buildings provided cover for the walkways surrounding each building. The two storey building at the centre of the complex houses the manager's residence on the upper level, with a communal dining room and lounge room, commercial kitchen, laundry and office on the lower level.

Each unit has stand alone services including power, telephone, air-conditioning and hot water services. An alert system was installed to each unit with monitoring by the on-site managers. All units have disabled facilities to the bathrooms with one of the unit blocks dedicated to fully disabled facilities regarding access and internal movement space. The commercial kitchen was fitted out with modular stainless steel benches and commercial cooking, washing and refrigeration units. The colour schemes and landscaping were to blend with the environment and create a comfortable and pleasing surround for the residents.
