TP Aquatic were commissioned to construct
Stage 2 of this amazing centre's redevelopment which consisted
of the construction of a new amenities building. This involved
cutting into the existing hill to construct a new facility
that offered full toilet and shower facilities at ground level
along with an observation deck and kiosk on the upper level.
Next stage of this redevelopment saw us completely rebuilding the existing timber and grass grandstand to one built in concrete along with the construction of a shade sail covering.
Continuing with the redevelopment we were
commissioned to construct an entirely new entrance building
incorporating a new manager's office. This new, more secure
entry also featured a much needed entrance for the disabled.
In upgrading the main pool itself this involved our professional team completely stripping the surface and retiling it with the inclusion of a wet gutter along one edge that previously didn't have one. Then an upgrade of the chemical control equipment, new circulation pumps and an upgrade to the filtration valves ensured successful and hygenic water treatments. To finish off the pool's upgrade TP Aquatic constructed new starting blocks, water polo nets, false start indicators and tiled line markings to identify a water polo area which is of an Olympic standard. A new counterlevered shade structure on the plantroom provided a marshalling area for the swimmers.
A unique feature of this amazing project a revolutionary
fibreglass bulkhead that can be moved around the pool, splitting
the pool into different sections allowing alternative use
of the pool at various times. This also gave management the
ability to split the pool into 2 sections of 25 metres in
length doubling the pool's useful capacity.
Some landscaping, reinstatement works, total irrigation, exposed aggregate around the pool and fencing completed the project with management being extremely pleased with this project being finished on time and on budget.
