  • A Solar heating system provides temperature controlled water to the toddler pool and splash pad ensuring year round enjoyment by the community
  • This project also involved the refurbishment of three existing buildings along with the construction of a new Kiosk, offices and outdoor eating area for the community

Nanango

Our team completely demolished the existing facility which included large toilet blocks, kiosk and two pools. Once this was achieved the blocks were reshaped and refilled involving importing and compacting, civil works, soil testing and site inspection. A unique, full spanning single sheet system comprised the roof construction, coated with a special insulating and rust proofing product. The completed facility was able to be fully heated to a constant 24 degrees with the added feature of roll up blinds to one side of the building allowing opening for the summer months making Nanango a suitable all season facility.

The 25m pool was heated to 27 deg and the Hydrotherapy pool to 34 deg via an efficient and effective heat pump unit. Each pool had a separate filtration system and chemical control equipment with the water features in the wading pool controlled by a separate feature pump allowing for individual control.

The buildings consisted of a full amenities including toilets and showers with the showers heated by cost efficient and water saving heat pump units.

A specialist's physio room was also constructed for the Hydrotherapy pool. Our award winning disabled facilities which include ramps, lifts and toilets have also been included at Nanango.

The local swimming club also have their own club room which is used for meetings and the storage of equipment etc. To make the facility complete a kiosk and manager's office and kitchen were constructed at the entrance. Also undertaken for this project were major storm water works, electrical upgrades and connection plus all landscaping including some footpath reconstruction.

The team at TP Aquatic Constructions have excelled in recreating this site to its current superb facility

Springwood

TP Aquatic were commissioned to construct Stage 2 of this amazing centre's redevelopment which consisted of the construction of a new amenities building. This involved cutting into the existing hill to construct a new facility that offered full toilet and shower facilities at ground level along with an observation deck and kiosk on the upper level.

Next stage of this redevelopment saw us completely rebuilding the existing timber and grass grandstand to one built in concrete along with the construction of a shade sail covering.

Continuing with the redevelopment we were commissioned to construct an entirely new entrance building incorporating a new manager's office. This new, more secure entry also featured a much needed entrance for the disabled.

In upgrading the main pool itself this involved our professional team completely stripping the surface and retiling it with the inclusion of a wet gutter along one edge that previously didn't have one. Then an upgrade of the chemical control equipment, new circulation pumps and an upgrade to the filtration valves ensured successful and hygienic water treatments. To finish off the pool's upgrade TP Aquatic constructed new starting blocks, water polo nets, false start indicators and tiled line markings to identify a water polo area which is of an Olympic standard. A new counter levered shade structure on the plantroom provided a marshalling area for the swimmers.

A unique feature of this amazing project a revolutionary fiberglass bulkhead that can be moved around the pool, splitting the pool into different sections allowing alternative use of the pool at various times. This also gave management the ability to split the pool into 2 sections of 25 metres in length doubling the pool's useful capacity.

Some landscaping, reinstatement works, total irrigation, exposed aggregate around the pool and fencing completed the project with management being extremely pleased with this project being finished on time and on budget.

Northern Beaches Leisure Centre

Developed in 2009 as an initiative of the Local City Council this massive project has been designed, right from the planning stages as a complete leisure and lifestyle centre to meet the needs of the city's growing Northern corridor. The entire project, which includes four individual pool constructions has been built incorporating the new and revolutionary Olympic standard Sky Pool technologies.

Everything constructed as part of this project has been built by TP Aquatic Constructions. This includes car parking, civil works, landscaping and of course all services, buildings, and swimming pools. A truly all inclusive service with all aspects of construction completed by the one Builder.

All filtration works have also been assembled and commissioned by TP aquatic Constructions. Operations manuals, staff training and ongoing assistance and maintenance is all included on every TP Aquatic Constructions project by our dedicated in-house experts.

All Swimming pool construction is undertaken by TP Aquatic Staff all very experienced in the complex nature of commercial swimming pool construction.

Other components of this project and integral to the successful operation of this Leisure Centre included an entrance statement, reception area, retail counter, dressing area, toilet and shower buildings and a plant and equipment area. Working to a strict budget the entire project was completed to the full satisfaction of all parties.

Northern Beaches Waterslides

Following the successful construction of the Northern Beaches Leisure Centre TP Aquatic Constructions was once again called upon to build a set of waterslides at the complex to provided added enjoyment to the community.

The slides used were sourced from a previous project and TP Aquatic Construction were required to build facilities suitable to accommodate these existing slides and bring them online within their new framework thereby providing the first major waterslide in the Townsville area for well over a decade.

The construction challenges involved construction of a mound and splash zone with balance tanks, pumps and filtration along with landscaping, retaining walls, fencing, stairs and handrails.

The final product is a credit to the team and will be enjoyed by all for many years to come.

Skypool

The professional team at TP Aquatic introduce you to this amazing high performance pool building technique. A prefabricated system consisting of hot galvanised steel panels chemically anchored to a previously constructed concrete slab. This, in turn, can be adapted to suit the needs of the facility and can be built as an above or below ground pool with zero change to design, installation or anchor points with infinite corrosion protection thanks to the applications of sacrificial anodes to any embedded pool. These panels are then joined by a longitudinal beam, designed to withstand the water force and the opposing panels are fixed with longitudinally and transverse steel cables.

The main characteristics of a Skypool from TP Aquatic are extremely fast assembly times, high durability, excellent reliability and the unique advantage of being able to construct an alternate sport's facility over the top of the pool converting your Olympic size pool to a competition standard basketball court. And that's a great idea.

Rather than having to wait up to 6 months a TP Aquatic /Skypool can be up and serviceable within 6 weeks offering durability, functionality, reliability and maximised quality. The entire TP Aquatic/Skypool concept will also save you money in design and construction costs.
